Justin Lewis Consulting focuses on long-term database management and fundraising consulting for nonprofits. I am an expert with Blackbaud's The Raiser's Edge CRM, with over twenty years of experience. I am also a current DonorPerfect user and am sharpening my skills within that database environment. My clients are provided the ability to leverage their donor database as the primary fundraising data center. I am passionate about creating a historical document through the donor database. Even though RE has a rigid framework already built specifically for non-profits, the way your data is coded is what sets you apart and allows you to leverage RE in a powerful way. I will create a customized but clean system of coding so that end users can actually pull the data they need. This includes: gift information, attributes, prospect information, action tracking and any other area of use and need.
Annual fund solutions
Segmenting your data is just a start. You need a plan. When do you solicit each group and how will you do it within budget and using the best medium? I will assist you with making those tough budget decisions and then help you actually get the data you need to make it happen. Whether you're doing it in-house or using outside help, I can make the process easier.

Segmenting your data is important for annual fundraising appeals as well as major gift programs. Based on your solicitation schedule I can segment out the entire database so that groups are targeted at the right time, for the right amount and for the right reason. Segmentation lends itself to reporting statistics that can go many levels below the simple fund or constituency based models and can allow for very targeted changes in fundraising strategy.

My skillset is not in asking a donor for large amounts of money. But I can help in researching and identifying who those potential donors are, tracking all aspects of the ask and offering suggestions on timing. Creating a sustainable major gifts program starts with solid prospect research, a manageable portfolio and an organized calendar to allow for all asks to be made.

Everyone has different needs in a non-profit in terms of data. Your events manager needs reservation lists with food preferences. Your annual fund manager wants updates on giving towards an appeal. The major gifts officer wants a pipeline report on the major prospects and where they stand during a campaign cycle. I can set up any type of complex query or report so that you are only getting the information you need.

You've heard all the cliches, but they are all true. Good data in - good data out. Without accurate entry, efficient use of your database is near impossible. I will provide solid data entry policies and procedures for both manual and imported data that will allow you to utilize built-in reporting tools. I can also provide some amount of ongoing remote entry in some cases.
